The Green Communities team are hosting a bat detecting event in Central Park with Devon Bat Group. This is as a part of our ongoing mission to bring light the amazing wildlife that can be found in your local green space.

A Devon Bat Group volunteer will be doing a short presentation on bats, and their importance to the ecosystems, and how we can help them. We will then head out with bat detectors to identify bats using echolocation. No experience is needed to join us, everyone is welcome!

Please note, we will be walking on uneven ground, in low light, so please wear suitable footwear, clothing and appropriate weather protection. Please bring a head torch or hand torch, as it will be dark when the event finishes.

We will be outside for the duration of this event, so please wrap up warm, as there will be some standing still at the beginning.

All ages welcome (children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult)

Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs as the terrain is steep, uneven and will be poorly lit. A good level of mobility is required.

This event is weather dependant, and will have to be postponed if it's raining. Please keep an eye on your emails the day of this event

If you have any questions, please email jess.jordan@nationaltrust.org.uk

See you there!
