Knowing where your food comes from is more important than ever and one of the things we are most proud of here at Greendale is our meat. From steaks to burgers, every piece of Greendale beef can be traced directly back to our farm.

Don’t take our word for it, though; join our ‘Greendale Farm Tour', and see for yourself.

First, Molly, our friendly animal keeper, will take you on a tour of Greendale Farm Trail where you will meet an array of animals, including pigs, goats, wallabies and geese. Here you can get up close and personal our wonderful animals, say hi to Oscar the curious Ostrich, listen out for the Kunekune pigs snoring and watch the friendly Highland Cows playing together. Molly will guide you around the trail with some fun facts about each of the animals, and will answer any questions you may have.

You will then be taken to meet the Greendale cattle herd, located a stone's throw away from the Farm Shop where you will learn firsthand where our beef comes from. Here you’ll meet some of the Greendale cattle herd, and learn how skilled farm management and rigorous attention to detail help to ensure consistent, high-quality produce for our customers.

The tour then moves on to our anaerobic digester, where you will see how the manure from the cattle herd generates the electricity used to power Greendale Farm Shop.

Once back at the Farm Shop, you’ll meet our friendly butchers, who can discuss how the beef is expertly prepared to make exceptionally delicious and tender joints, steaks, and burgers - they'll also answer any cooking or serving questions you may have, too. At the end of the tour, each participant will receive either a free 8oz sirloin steak or a pack of Greendale Steak Burgers to enjoy at home – the final step in the journey of Greendale beef from our farm to our customers.
