The Green Futures Awards is - we believe - the UK’s first independently-run, hyper-local awards programme supporting schools to take climate and nature action and build resilience for the future. It is also the UK’s first schools award scheme to uniquely embed climate resilience at its heart, helping schools to prepare for escalating climate impacts such as flash flooding, intense heat and wildfires.
We believe the Green Futures Awards has the potential to inspire communities beyond Henley, and we would be delighted to share our resources with local groups across the UK who would like to develop similar initiatives in their own areas.
Please join us on 25th March to hear about what the Green Futures Awards are, how they can supercharge climate and nature action within your local area, and how your group can deliver this programme. This session, led by members of Greener Henley’s Schools Team, provides an opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas, and gain practical guidance on how this programme can support schools in your community to become leaders in climate and nature action, whilst helping them to become climate-ready.
This event is open to all, but we particularly encourage the following people to attend:
Local/community groups, similar to Greener Henley (local climate and nature action groups).
Education specialists
Local councils
National organisations within the education sector
Whatever the size of your group or your starting point, the programme’s tiered structure and locally adaptable criteria make it easy to scale, share, and adopt across local towns and school networks. Join us to find out more about how you can get involved and roll out this vital work.
This webinar has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Oxfordshire County Council and the Henley Educational Trust, whose funding has enabled the delivery of the Green Futures Awards.
The agenda will be made available soon.
