Description
Our workshop will introduce you to making nourishing fermented drinks, flavoured with seasonal ingredients, that are great for your gut. We’ll explore how fermentation works with a mix of discussion and practical hands-on activities.
homemade kombucha - we will introduce you to the SCOBY and discuss how to look after it so that you can keep making this delicious drink at home. We’ll taste a few flavour combinations to encourage you to experiment with your own ideas.
kvass - We will try this drink and discuss how to use sourdough starter to make this tasty drink. We’ll start a small batch of this for you to ferment at home.
The workshop will offer recipes and suggestions to give you the confidence to get started making delicious, fermented drinks on a regular basis.
All drinks are dairy free.
This workshop will be led by Jackie Vural, an enthusiastic cook of many cuisines with a passion for bread making. Jackie has worked with Greener Kirkcaldy for over a decade and loves sharing her skills.
All ingredients, equipment, aprons, handouts, recipes and refreshments are included in the price of your ticket.
Alongside expert tuition, you’ll get to taste and take home plenty of delicious food. You’ll have lots of chances to ask questions and learn about making delicious food.
Don’t forget to bring some containers to take your food home with you to enjoy.
This is a hands-on cooking class. Some cooking skills are required to enjoy this workshop, such as basic knife skills.
