People's Emergency Briefing - Fife Elected Members Film Screening

Thu 16 Jul 2026 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM BST Greener Kirkcaldy, KY1 1XT

What’s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for communities across Fife and the UK?

Greener Kirkcaldy is inviting Councillors, MSPs and MPs to join us for a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing, followed by a discussion about the implications for our communities and the role of local and national decision-makers.

The briefing brings together leading UK scientists and experts to present the latest evidence on the climate and nature crisis and its impacts on everyday life, including:

  • Extreme weather
  • Food security
  • Public health and wellbeing
  • Cost of living pressures
  • Nature loss and biodiversity
  • National security

Based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster, and featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times, the film includes contributions from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden and a range of voices from across the UK.

Following the screening, there will be an opportunity for discussion and reflection on what the evidence means for Fife, Scotland and the UK. We will explore the challenges and opportunities facing our communities, including climate adaptation, community resilience, public health, nature, energy, food systems and local economic resilience.

This event is part of a series of briefings taking place across the UK to bring constituents, civic leaders and elected representatives together to engage with the latest evidence and consider what an emergency response should look like.

Who should attend?

This event is intended for elected representatives, including Councillors, MSPs and MPs.
