Wildlife Camera Lending Library

Borrow a wildlife camera - and find out who is living in your garden!

If you've wondered who is visiting your pond, or what is making your dog go crazy in the evening, or who dug that hole, then setting up a wildlife camera may provide you with the answers!

Thanks to a grant from Heart of Bucks, we are launching a wildlife camera lending library. 

1. Click on the button to book your two-week slot and pay a £20 refundable deposit (plus £1.50 booking fee). 

2. Select which of the two NatureSpy cameras you would like to loan. In brief, the Helarctos Solar Trail uses an SD card, while the WiFi WildCam 2 is app-based, but please read the technical requirements below to help you make your choice. 

3. Once you have booked the camera, you will receive a confirmation email. This email will tell you how to collect the camera so please do open and read it. Our camera 'librarian' will be glad to give you some tips.

4. The camera is yours to enjoy for few weeks. (Please note - we're transitioning from a lending window of a fortnight to a month, hence a slightly confusing calendar. Bear with us!) 

5. Please return it before midday on the return day, fully charged and having saved your images on your own device.  

6. Your £20 deposit will be refunded within a week - all we ask is that you return the camera in the same condition, and that you let us know what it caught! 

This is a new scheme and we are keen to make it as accessible and affordable as possible. We hope it will bring you closer to the wildlife in your garden. Any donations to Greener Padbury Group will help us keep this project running in the future and once the camera has been returned, you will receive an email where you can choose to receive a full, partial or no refund of your £20 deposit.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR USE

NatureSpy Helarctos Solar Trail Camera:

Place anywhere within your garden: Detection range of 65Ft: Solar Powered (with Battery Back up): Has removeable SD Card: Has its own WiFi network that can be accessed using any smartphone Android or Apple IOS (IOS 15 and later) or Android 12 or later

NatureSpy WiFi Wildcam 2:

Must be placed within your home’s WiFi reception area (typically within 12 ft of your house) unless you have extended coverage: Rechargeable using USC cable : Easy to set up using App and provides instant feedback on viewing on all devices e.g. computer, iPad, iPhone etc. (think doorbell cam). Best used with Android or Apple IOS (IOS 15 and later) or Android 12 or later
