Description
When Emily Halnon lost her mother, Andrea, to a rare uterine cancer, she went after the speed record on the 460-mile stretch of Oregon's Pacific Crest Trail to celebrate her mom's life — and to process the grief of losing her. Emily, author of the bestselling memoir, “To the Gorge,” will share stories from her record-breaking run across Oregon and her journey through grief, and offer insights into why trails and the outdoors are such valuable spaces for processing our hardest emotions. While Emily's story is rooted in loss, expect a lot of joy to shine through it, too. Emily was born and raised in Lincoln, Vermont, just a few miles from the Long Trail, and developed a life-long love of the outdoors while running around the forests and hills of the Green Mountains.
