Mardi has spent 20 years exploring the mountains of New England, especially the White Mountains of NH. In 2021, she became the first known Black person to summit the NH 48 in winter. Join Mardi as she shares her adventures, mishaps and learnings in the backcountry as well as the path of identity formation she found as a Black woman in the nearly exclusively White winter hiking community.
Please note: This presentation has been rescheduled from Thursday, 2/23 to Wednesday 3/1. This program will not be recorded, so please plan to attend in real time if you are interested in hearing Mardi's story.
