Save the date for an alternative family Halloween - on October 30th we're teaming up with Orchard Cardiff to give food waste a SCARE!  😱

Did you know that every part of a pumpkin is edible except the stalk? Despite this, millions of pumpkins are thrown into landfill, uneaten, every Halloween - but we can do something about this! You're invited to join us in the Gardens after dark for a special evening of food and fun. Full details to be announced, but here's what you can expect...

• Decorate a pumpkin - then take it home and eat it after Halloween!
• Hands-on cookery demos, tasting, and free recipe cards to make the most of pumpkins and apples this autumn
• Apple tasting and juicing
• Halloween storytelling
• Face painting (small additional charge to help raise funds for the SAFE Foundation)
• Seal and Bear Cafe open for supper if you get peckish - with a special pumpkin dish on the menu! 

This event is open to children of all ages but activities are particularly suitable for ages 5 - 11

Booking info:

-Tickets will open for booking on October 1st and include a pumpkin to take home for each child. 
- To help us prevent no-shows we ask for a donation of £3/ child for residents of CF24 or £6/ child for anyone coming from elsewhere. 
- Free tickets are available for asylum seekers, refugees, and people living in supported accommodation, as well as anyone who would find the cost a barrier to taking part - please email hannah@greensquirrel.co.uk or message 07542 074303 to request free places if you need them, no questions asked.
- Grown ups don't need a ticket but do need to attend with their child and stay for the whole event. 
- Spaces are limited and likely to fill up QUICK so don't forget to check back on the 1st and book yours.
