Family Nature Club is LOADS of fun!
You can expect food growing, nature crafts, games, cooking and wildlife discovery. Every child can have a free snack and drink.
About Nature Club
- This club is perfect for you and your child if you want to spend time together learning about wildlife, food growing, and the natural world. This will be a calm environment and we'll be focussing on group activities and games, rather than free play, and families will be expected to take part in the activities if coming to the Club.
- The club is free or by donation
- We ask everyone to sign in on arrival. Each child will also be able to get their Nature Club passport stamped to win a prize!
- You can arrive from 3:30pm for a snack with activities starting from 3:45pm.
- To keep the group accessible for all, we may need to cap numbers if it gets too busy. You are welcome to drop in without booking but on busy weeks priority will be given to families who have pre-booked.
What's planned for this term..
- 10th June: Tracks and trails with Cardiff Local Nature Partnership
- 17th June: Wildflowers week

Good to know
- Parents/ carers must stay on site and supervise their children throughout the session
- Nature Club is free for residents of CF24/ Splott, Adamsdown and Tremorfa, asylum seekers and refugees, families living in sheltered accommodation, and Green Squirrel volunteers. For everyone else we ask you to make a suggested donation of £3 if you can. You can do this when booking or on arrival.
- Nature Club goes ahead in most weathers and we've got Y Nyth/ The Nest - our cosy outdoor classroom - for activities. We recommend bringing your raincoat and/ or a warm layer over the winter months. If we do have to cancel due to extreme weather we'll let everyone who has booked know and post on our socials.
- You can join Nature Club at any time throughout the term, newbies always welcome!
- Nature Club is run by volunteers - if you can make a donation or offer to lend a hand we'd be very grateful!
- Railway Gardens has wheelchair and pushchair accessible pathing, an accessible toilet, and baby changing facilities. Y Nyth is accessible also.
- We ask all parents/ carers to help their child remember how to behave in the community garden.
