Halloween Bikefest! Bike repair, activities, food + a fancy dress bike ride!

As the evenings get darker it can be tempting to lock the bike in the shed... but hang on a minute! We want to help YOU cycle more and stay visible and safe this autumn. Join us on Tuesday October 27th, 10am - 2pm for a special BikeFest in partnership with Community Cycleworks. It's free, everyone is welcome, there will be plenty for families to do. Here's what you can expect...

🔧 Free bike repairs & tune ups

🧛 A fancy dress bike ride, suitable for families, leaving Railway Gardens at midday, returning to Railway Gardens, and expected to take no more than half an hour. All ages welcome and although fancy dress is encouraged you are most welcome to take part without it! Please make sure your costume is safe to cycle in - we don't want any capes caught in gears!

🧙Spooky upcycled crafts to decorate your bike

🦺 Print your own hi-vis vest

🫟 Help design a new mural celebrating walking and wheeling

🌈 Bike wheel weaving - let's make colourful upcycled decorations for our gates!

🫧 Try the bubble bike and the pedal powered duck race

🙌 Spin the wheel and win a prize - some fantastic bike goodies up for grabs (small charge)

🎃 Homemade pumpkin soup and garlic bread served from 12:30pm (small charge)

🚲 PLUS - the official ribbon cutting on our lush new bike shelter and repair area at 11am.

The event is free and registration is optional but it does let us contact you if we have to change plans or cancel the event for any reason. It also helps us plan for numbers so we love it when people do register!

Good to know:

• We have bike parking, please bring your lock!
• Gluten free options will be available for lunch
• You are welcome to bring your own hi-vis to print and we will have some free ones available in a range of sizes, first come first served
