City of Fairfield Solar Array Grand Unveiling & VIP Tour

Green Umbrella cordially invites you to join us and 25 Communities Project member, the City of Fairfield, for the grand unveiling of their first renewable energy project - a 1.5 MW-dc, five-acre solar array next to the Fairfield Wastewater Treatment Plant on Groh Lane! 

These solar panels will provide about 65% of the electricity needed to power the utility. The wastewater treatment plant was chosen as the first energy project, in part, because it’s the single largest energy user of all the city’s facilities. With electric rates doubling in the last four years, the city expects to save $2.5 million over the solar array’s 30-year life expectancy. This ground-mount solar array was constructed by Melink Solar.

Join us for an up-close look at this culmination of our partnership and hear from local government officials and citizens as we celebrate this major milestone in renewable energy in our region! Following remarks, there will be a tour of the solar array and a networking reception with drinks and snacks.
