HAVIRهه ڤير - Grittenham Barn Fundraiser

Join us for a lovely evening of food, drinks and dancing, all for a great cause. 

All ticket proceeds go towards helping set up a refugee-run restaurant called 'HAVIR' in Lesvos, Greece. Salman is a Kurdish Syrian refugee who fled Syria in 2016 and has been living in Lesvos since. He’s always dreamed of opening his own restaurant - and now he’s realised the opportunity to turn that into a project that creates jobs for refugees, especially women from the nearby camp who are often excluded from work, while also building a space where locals and refugees can come together over food. I know there are so many important causes and charities needing support out there, but this is a unique opportunity to support something small and real; where the impact can be directly seen, without the money getting diluted in distribution. Every ticket sold goes directly towards helping Salman get this project off the ground. The restaurant is going to be a pizzeria with the name 'HAVIR', meaning 'dough' in Kurdish (هه ڤير).
