Please note there is a £25 charge per dog per night for all bookings
Please be courteous to our venue and collect your dog mess and dispose of it appropriately. Discourage any soiling at hotel doorways or inside the hotel anywhere.
Come and compete.. or spectate and do some shopping while you’re there! We have Trade stands for all your doggy needs and seminars throughout the day 🙌🏻
On arrival for our event, please enter your registration number of your vehicle at the front reception desk..this is to avoid any unwanted parking tickets! We do not have control over this, so please remember to do so!

Please remember to book your lunch ticket or bring something with you if you are competing. ( competitors will get priority if competing with 2 dogs, please notify us on the day )

12.30pm - 1.30pm Lynne Land - Clicker training and working in films with dogs.
Afternoon seminars
1.30pm - 2:30pm Louisa Tandy - Controlling Confrontation” How to deal with those tricky topics that can get an owner all fired up. From raising prices to charging missed appointment fees and how to drop a difficult customer.
2:30pm - 4:30pm Lisa Hart - Asian Freestyle Demo
RULES AND CLASS DEFINITIONS
OUR PRIORITY_- dogs will be given 10 mins table break after 1 hour of competing in the ring. Please ensure your dog is toileted, fed, watered and comfortable during the competition.
Please keep your dog secured and attended whilst on the table and on a secure lead when off the table. The dog in your care should be insured and in good health, If you have any concerns regarding your dog please alert a steward who will help you immediately

Salon Stars!! - Groomers New to Competition
Under 1 year grooming experience - Students and those new to grooming
1-2 years grooming experience - Student and those who have been grooming ( including training ( 1-2 years)
2-5 years Grooming Experience Those who have been grooming 2-5 years
Over 5 Years Grooming Experience Anyone who has been grooming for more than 5 years . not open to breed specialists
Salon stars comp will take place in the seminar room with their own comp ring and judges. Competitors should be in the ring and ready to start for 8.30 am. Across all classes - you will have 2 hours ONLY to complete the groom- regardless of size, breed or technique so choose your dog carefully !
prep work, bathing, drying, pads and hygiene areas can be done before the comp. Places 1st to 6th
classes capped at 6 competitors only
ALL OTHER CLASSES DEFINITION BELOW
Beginner: should have less than 2 years full time grooming experience. No breed specialists allowed. The competitor can compete as beginner in several comp for 12 months even if they place first. After 12 months the beginner must compete in the open class even if they haven't placed first.
Intermediate: over 2 years full time grooming experience and/or contestants that have never won a gold medal in open class. No breed specialists allowed.The contestant can compete as intermediate in several contests for 12 months even if they place first. After 12 months the intermediate must compete in the open class even if they haven't placed first.
Open: anyone with less than 3 firsts or two firsts and a Best in Show within any set class. Breed specialists should enter this class.
Champion: anyone that has already placed first in Champion class in their category can not move back to Open .Any competitors that have won three first places in Open class in the same category must provide evidence of their wins to enter the Champion class.
If a competitor decides to enter a class above their usual level e.g Open into Champion then they will NOT be permitted to go back to the lower level at future shows.
Salon Freestyle : Any dog in a salon style e.g. clipped body (Poodles in clipped lamb trim also included), scissored drop coats. clipped terrier and clipped schnauzers, mixed breed styling. Non Asian style and no accessories. Should a dog be considered, by the judges, to be in an Asian style e.g short body flared legs then they will be moved to Asian Freestyle class if there is space available. If there is no space available then they will not be considered in class placings.

Asian Freestyle: Asian influenced styling e.g. short body, flare legs, asymetrical head. Colouring or pre colour is not permitted due to Kennel Club regulations. Accessories are permitted but should be kept to a minimum.

dogs over 15" - 2.5 hours
Hand Strip: Terriers or other wire coated breed. Must be hand strip technique. *clipping allowed as per breed standard on throats, heads etc as required* see timings below

Spaniel & Setter: Any Spaniel or Setter. Must be hand strip technique.

Poodle
Poodles: Accepted breed trim only, can include Dutch trim. Face and feet should be clipped prior to the competition. Comb attachments are not permitted in this class. An assistant may be used when spraying up top knots. lamb trim should enter salon freestyle
Toy & miniature - 2hrs
+ 15 min for spray up topknot
Standard - 2hr 30m
+ 15 min spray up topknot
*assistants may enter ring to support dog for spray up on topknot
Pure Breed:
cesky terrier, lowchen, 1 hr 30 mins
Bedlington, Bichon, bedlington, pomeranian. 2 hours
Kerry Blue, Bouvier, wheaten etc, 2 hours
General Rules
Your choice and usage of tools and equipment will be taken into account as part of the judges marking criteria.
Dogs hair must be long enough to allow the groomer to make changes to it's physical appearance. Dogs must be freshly bathed and dried with a knot free coat.
Ears should be clean and nails trimmed prior to the competition.
Dogs hygiene areas and underpads may be clipped according to breed standard prior to the competition.
Please allow time to prepare yourself and your dog to be ready for pre judging.
Competitors arriving more than 15 minutes after the class start time will not be allowed to participate.
Judges and organisers reserve the right to disqualify any dog or groomer entered in the wrong class.
Once the results of the competition have been declared, if a competitor is found to have been entered in the wrong class they will be disqualified and any prizes withdrawn.
Awards will be given at the end of the day, if you are not there to collect them you will be responsible for any postage costs.
All groomers are responsible for their dogs care and well being during their time at the event. Inappropriate or unsafe handling will result in immediate disqualification.
Please ensure you clean up after your dogs and dispose of waste in the bins provided.
A rubbish bag for use during the competition will be provided at your table - please use it!
All groomers are responsible for their own health and safety during the event.
Entry fees are non refundable.
