Free Family Bird Ringing Day

Help us to find out which birds are living at West Boldon Lodge!

West Boldon Lodge is a thriving nature site, and we need your help to figure out exactly which birds are here.  You’ll have the opportunity to get up close with our feathered friends, learn ID skills, and contribute to the conservation work of West Boldon Lodge. No previous experience necessary, all activities are led by skilled professionals who will help you join in whatever your skill level.

All tickets are free but must be pre-booked.

Bird Ringing Demonstration

8:00 – 11:00am, drop in at any time

The bird ringing demonstration will allow you to get up close and personal with the birds and see exactly which birds we have on our site. We’ll then retire back to the centre for a cuppa to warm up. Suitable for adults and children aged 4+.

Please do not park on the road around the sub station. When walking to the lodge please go through the forest and DO NOT walk back down the road past the substation. Staff will be available to direct you to overflow car parking.
