Get outdoors with your little ones this Spring! Come along for an hour of fun in the forest where you can explore our purpose built forest school area and take part in some outdoor activities, from crafts to bug hunts!
Tuesdays from 27th April - 25th May, 11am-12pm or 1:30-2:30pm. £25 per child for the full block of 5 sessions.
Thursdays from 29th April - 27th May, 11am-12pm. £25 per child for the full block of 5 sessions
Fridays from 30th April - 28th May, 11am-12pm. £25 per child for the full block of 5 sessions
Please note these sessions are not our usual Forest Playschool sessions, they are an opportunity to be outdoors and explore our site with different activities each week available to take part in. There will not be a campfire during these sessions however there will be hot chocolate and space to sit around the circle. Our group sizes will will remain smaller than usual so that social distancing can be maintained at all times. Old/scruffy clothes are best as we get quite muddy in some sessions! All sessions are outdoors in almost all weather conditions - wellies or sturdy shoes are a must. Due to ongoing covid restrictions, if the weather is deemed unsafe we will not be able to relocate indoors and may have to cancel the session at short notice, should this occur we will contact you as soon as possible with the contact details you provide.
Booking tickets
To book your space select the ticket for 'First Child' at the time you choose. If First Child tickets are displaying as sold out then unfortunately this time slot is fully booked. If you have additional children in your family and you wish to purchase more than one child space, select one ticket for 'First Child' and then one ticket for 'Additional Child' within the time slot you choose.
You are booking a block of 5 sessions at £25 per child for the block and your time slot will be the same day and time each week.
Covid-symptoms
You must not visit West Boldon Lodge if you or anyone in your household is displaying any of the following symptoms: new persistent cough, shortness of breath, high temperature, or loss or change to sense of taste or smell. Hygiene
You must sanitize or wash your hands on arrival and before leaving West Boldon Lodge (hand sanitiser dispensers are available in the woods and next to reception).
Anyone over the age of 11 must wear a face covering at all times when indoors unless exempt for reasons relating to mental or physical health or disability. We encourage you to wear a face covering outdoors when communicating with others.
Social distancing
West Boldon Lodge is a private site (owned by National Grid) and visitor numbers are extremely limited to enable social distancing. You must stay 2m from staff and other visitors at all times.
Facilities
The Lodge will be open to use toilets, baby change, breast feeding, or for other essential use, but there will be no indoor space for play or shelter. Please come dressed to be outdoors, we advise sturdy footwear and long trousers.
There will be no food or drink on sale.
Getting here
There is car parking on site, but we recommend taking public transport if possible. Do not use just the postcode in Sat. Nav.s as it often does not bring you to the right place. For directions visit https://tiny.cc/findwbl.
Times & arrival
You will book a block of sessions with a time slot of 1 hour. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early. Please check in at our outdoor reception on arrival. Follow the one way signs and social distance if there are others waiting.
You do not need to bring tickets.
Accessibility and dietary requirements
We are well equipped to welcome visitors with a range of physical and mental illnesses and disabilities. We will have hot chocolate available so please do let us know if you have any allergies or intolerances as we can usually provide free-from alternatives if we know in advance. Please inform us in advance if anyone in your party has any additional requirements so we can make sure you're able to access and enjoy our site.
Supervision
All children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. There are various dangers including a road, lake, and National Grid sub-station on site which you will be informed of upon check in, or you can see our site risk assessment here.

Cancellation
If you are unable to make your visit, let us know as soon as possible and we will re-list your tickets. If they re-sell, we will offer you a full refund. If they do not re-sell, we will offer a voucher to re-book for another date, but no refund.
If we have to cancel for any reason, we will offer a refund or a voucher to re-book for another date. These must be claimed within 30 days of the date the event was due to take place.
Any donations made at the time of booking (on top of your ticket cost) are non-refundable.
