As Autumn turns to winter and the cows came in from the pastures, it was thought that spirits of the dead might try to come in to the dwellings of their relatives too. Not only spirits but witches, faeries and hobgoblins were supposed to roam the lands. The storytellers will tell tales from Samhain, thought to be the Celtic New Year and Halloween. They will explore how pagan and Christian traditions have come together to make the festival we know today.
