Learn traditional embroidery skills and techniques used by the Anglo Saxons.
The Anglo-Saxon’s were famous for their embroidery skills; the most famous embroidery of all, the Bayeux Tapestry, is thought to have been made by English embroiderers who were famous for the quality of their embroidery.
Members of Acle Early Medieval Re-enactment Society will be demonstrating and teaching the embroidery stitches used in the Anglo-Saxon period enabling and supporting participants to create unique designs based on the artwork popular during the times of the Venerable Bede.
Great to further develop your skills, also be suitable for beginners with basic sewing skills and ages 12+ and participants will be provided with all the materials necessary to complete your project with ongoing support provided if necessary.
