Description
On this interactive tour you'll get to see objects from the Bede Museum and learn all about Early Medieval Scriptoriums and some of the manuscripts they produced. We'll discuss the Lindisfarne Gospels and Codex Amiatinus, comparing the two.
Join your guide for an interactive tour of the Bede Museum, highlighting objects that are on display which link to Early Medieval Scriptoriums. Guests will also have the opportunity to visit 'Lindisfarne Light' our Autumn exhibition, which is being produced in partnership with the Northumbrian Scribes. We'll take a closer look at medieval manuscripts such as the Codex Amiatinus and the Lindisfarne Gospels.
Tour places must be booked in advance. Entry to the rest of the museum, farm and reconstructed buildings is not included in this tour. Entry tickets will be required for the rest of the site - these should be booked online via the museums website or at the museum gift shop.
