Birthday Party at West Boldon Lodge

Give your kids a party to remember at West Boldon Lodge! Make use of our nature site, log cabin, and staff expertise for a party with a difference! 

Our birthday parties are outdoors in the forest and are 2 hours long for up to 15 children. You can choose morning or afternoon for your party; times are listed as 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm but this can be changed if necessary.

Feel free to theme your party and decorate or select one of our themes (additional charge applies)

All parties include a campfire with marshmallows, juice, and a wooden name badge for the birthday child. Optional extras include; hot chocolate, crisps, tea and coffee, hotdogs cooked on the campfire and party bags.

Room hire only (£30 per hour)

If you would like to bring your own food and decorations and have your food indoors, we can give you a big space with tables and chairs laid out how you require.

You can also host your own party in one of the rooms in our log cabin, simply hire the room and use our space for any party you like. Please note that any set up time must be included in the hours you hire the room for.

Booking confirmation

Upon booking your party you will receive a confirmation email outlining your chosen party and confirming we have received your deposit. You will also receive a phone call from a member of staff to discuss your party requirements within two weeks of booking. If you do not receive this phone call within two weeks, please email us at westboldonlodge@groundwork.org.uk.

Payment

A £40 deposit will be taken upon booking your party, the remaining amount will be due before your party, or on the day of your party at the latest. This can be paid via Paypal, card or cash

Charges, Cancellations, and Deposits

Cancellations must be advised as soon as possible. Charges may apply according to the details below

More than 1 week before No Charge. Deposit returned.

2 to 6 days before 50% Charge

Behaviour, discipline and supervision

West Boldon Lodge staff are experienced and will organise and control youngsters working directly under their supervision. However, the overall welfare and discipline of the groups is the responsibility of the party organiser. We expect children to behave in a suitable manner whilst at the Centre, which will be discussed at the start of the session. Instructions and rules relating to activities are in accordance with our risk assessments and health and safety procedures. Children whose behaviour puts themselves or others at risk will not be allowed to continue with an activity.

To assist with this, we require the following minimum supervision ratios to be followed. Adult numbers do not include any West Boldon Lodge staff. More adults are welcome to stay:

· Children under 4 must be supervised 1 adult : 1 child

· Children aged 5-6 must be supervised 1 adult : 2 children

· Children aged 7+ must be supervised 1 adult : 5 children

Parking

For safety reasons, a maximum of 30 vehicles are permitted on site at any one time. It is the event organiser's responsibility to ensure no more than 30 vehicles are invited on site. Parking passes can be issued to assist with this. West Boldon Lodge staff must be notified in advance if more than 25 vehicles are expected.

Access times

You will be permitted access to West Boldon Lodge 30 minutes before the start of the party. However, any activities undertaken by you or any of your guests before the confirmed start time are your responsibility. Guests will be expected to leave when the party ends and you must leave 30 minutes after the party ends. If you require additional time, a charge of £30 per hour applies. If you choose the 'room hire only' option, you only have access during the hours you have hired the room for, therefore if you need time to set up your party you must purchase additional hours.
