YORK CANTORES, COME & SING - VIVALDI'S GLORIA

Come and Sing Vivaldi's Gloria, Monteverdi's Beatus Vir and more!

Join York Cantores to sing and perform Vivaldi's choral masterpiece, Gloria: Monteverdi's Beatus Vir; and Handel's ever popular Zadok the Priest and Hallelujah Chorus.

The day will be led by York Cantores’ musical director Joel Starkie.

Tickets are £20 (£10 for students/children). Book your ticket online using the Buy Tickets link above. Tickets will also be available on the door.

After booking your place please email cantores.york@gmail.com to let us know which voice you will sing to help us with planning.

There will be an informal performance at 4pm – this is free to attend but places must be booked in advance by emailing cantores.york@gmail.com stating how many places you would like to book.

Singers of all ages and abilities, who can read music, are welcome.

Under 18s must be accompanied by their parent or guardian, who must remain present to act as chaperone at all times.

We will be using the Ricordi Casella edition of Vivaldi's Gloria https://www.rscmshop.com/books/E0024/vivaldi-gloria-ed-casella copies will be available to hire on the day for £1 (these do not have to be requested in advance.)

Participants can print off and bring their own copies of these pieces. Alternatively printed copies will be available on the day for £2 - please email cantores.york@gmail.com to request printed copies, which you can then collect and pay for on the day.

3:45pm -4:00pm Short Break for loo and water

4pm-5pm Concert

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available. We recommend bringing a packed lunch, there is also a Co-op two minutes walk from the church.

Venue & Facilities

The workshop and performance will be held in the Church.

There is heating in the Church. There is no dress code; be comfortable and warm.

There are toilet facilities in the church.

Travel & Parking

There is free parking on Knavesmire Rd, a few minutes walk from the church.

A number of local buses stop in Southbank: 11, 21, 24, 25, 26.
