Description
Graeme Bethune
Graeme is the man behind Caithness Yarns and has been a columnist for the Knitter Magazine for 4 years, writing about his experience as an ethical sheep farmer.
At Caithness Yarns, Graeme is committed to farming his sheep properly. That means a relentless focus on the health and happiness of the sheep because happy healthy sheep make better wool for Caithness Yarns. To achieve the very best wool means working within nature and not at the expense of, with sheep as one part of the wider management of the farm, not as the only aspect that matters.
Ethical Sheep Farming for Yarn
In this talk Graeme will speak about his experiences in ethically farming sheep for wool production, and how making wool as a main crop radically alters how you can and should farm. Graeme will talk about the fundamental principles of ethical sheep farming, including his own journey to a sustainable and ethical farm. He will also look to the future of sustainable farming, with his new and innovative ways of working to keep a healthy and happy flock.
Following the talk Graeme will do a Q&A and have a collection of his columns available to buy on the day.
