About this event
Apophany is the tendency to perceive meaningful connections between unrelated things. Along with our ability to predict, it can be thought of as a critical cognitive process that we possess to make sense of the world and act in it.
In these 2 workshops, we shall uncover insights using clean language, adopt different perspectives and create new connections by sharing our experiences and acting them out via improvised constellation
You’ll be invited to navigate a story, your own story, in one case the story of an accident, in the second where you have over-reached yourself. These challenges bring out automatic responses and mindsets, but if we dig a little deeper they present new ways of seeing and allow us to break free of our biases.
We shall give two sessions - to cater to different timezones. You only need to attend one, but you are welcome to both!
• In the first one, on July 14th, 2023 (US/AF/EU), we shall ask you to think of an accident that happened to you recently, which you are happy to share, that people are psychologically ready to hear. Think life admin more than crisis, politics, or diversity.
• In the second, on July 21st, 2023 (EU/AF/APAC), you’ll be invited to think of an overreach, a situation where you overdid something, over extended yourself because the estimate didn’t match reality; a deadline, a distance, a size/weight, a social awkwardness.
Instead of learning from your mistakes, we invite you to learn with your mistakes. Gathering, sharing, interacting and discovering the creative power of the apophany. Let’s play!?
