A Sea Most Cruel is about a young man that is handed over to a fisherman by his debt-stricken mother. Aaron and a crew of other young people struggle to adapt to life on the water with their abusive captain as forces natural and unnatural begin to close in on their ship...

A Sea Most Cruel contains the following: strong language, stage violence, depictions of self-harm, instances of murder and death, flashing lights, and loud sound effects.

The performance runs approx. 50 minutes with no intermission.

Each Circle of Voices production is driven, created, and presented by the youth in the program. The Since 1999, Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre has been developing Indigenous youth into the next generation of storytellers by teaching them artistic and theatrical skills. The Circle of Voices program also incorporates traditional Indigenous cultural practices to ensure youth participants are carrying on those traditions for future generations.

Student matinees: March 18, 19, and 21. Contact Jensine at pr@gtnt.ca to book.

Please note: the performance on March 22nd has been cancelled due to performer availability. We apologize for any inconvenience.
