Join us for a landmark moment in the UK: the full recital of Sunan An-Nasa'i and Sunan Ibn Majah with one of the world’s foremost scholars of Hadith, His Eminence Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi. This rare and unique event will take place at Ashton Central Mosque, Ashton-under-Lyne, United Kingdom, starting on 21st December 2026 and concluding on 2nd January 2027.
This historic gathering will mark the completion of the readings of the Six Canonical Books of Hadith (al-Kutub al-Sittah), bringing to a close an extraordinary journey through the six most authentic Hadith collections.
A truly historic opportunity to connect with the Prophetic ﷺ tradition through the transmission and teaching of one of the world’s leading Hadith scholars.

Event Highlights:
- Complete Recital: Immerse yourself in the profound teachings of Sunan An-Nasa'i and Sunan Ibn Majah studied under Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi.
- Ijazah Awarded: Attendees who fulfil the attendance requirements for the complete recital for which they are registered will receive an ijazah in Hadith. This certificate of authority to narrate hadith, will be granted by Shaykh al-Yaqoubi, who has one of the highest chains of transmission in the world today.

Sunan Ibn Majah - Monday 28th December 2026 - Friday 1st January 2027

- Accommodation: Accommodation is not included. Attendees are responsible for arranging their own accommodation. Limited spaces may be available at Ashton Central Mosque (see FAQs). For accommodation queries please contact Brother Hassan: 07870222786
- Additional Information: A light lunch and evening meal will be provided for all registered attendees. We are unable to cater for specific dietary requirements.
- Administration Fee: A small administration fee of £65 applies for each recital to cover costs related to the administration of the recital and ijazah process. Those attending both Sunan An-Nasa'i and Sunan Ibn Majah must register separately for each recital.

Khatam Ceremony (Saturday 2nd January 2027)
On Saturday 2nd January 2027, we will host a special khatam ceremony to mark the momentous completion of the recitals of Sunan An-Nasa'i and Sunan Ibn Majah. This gathering will be open to the public, with many special guests attending, and will mark the historic completion of the readings of the Six Canonical Books of Hadith (al-Kutub al-Sittah).
This will be a truly historic and momentous occasion, celebrating the culmination of an extraordinary journey through the six most authentic Hadith collections and a deeply spiritual milestone for all those who have taken part.

FAQs
Q. Will the event be delivered in English?
A. The event will be conducted completely in Arabic.
Q. Will there be an official text that will be read from?
A. Details of a recommended copy will be shared before the start of the recital. It will not be compulsory to use this copy.
Q. Will there be accommodation available at Ashton Central Mosque?
A. Limited accommodation will be available at Ashton Central Mosque for brothers. This will be strictly by registration. Please contact the masjid management to enquire about availability: events@ashtoncentralmosque.com. For general accommodation queries please contact Brother Hassan: 07870222786.
Q. Will there be facilities in the mother and baby room for changing and feeding?
A. Yes.
Q. Is there an option to attend a few days for those who cannot attend the full event?
A. There is limited capacity for this event. Priority will be given to those able to attend the complete recital. If spaces remain available, day passes may be made available for those unable to attend the complete recital.
Q. Is there a deadline for registration?
A. There is no set deadline for registration. However, capacity is limited. Once maximum capacity is reached, a waiting list will be activated.
Q. Is there a minimum age for Ijazah and will a young child qualify for ijazah if they are present in the entire gathering?
A. There is no minimum age for ijazah. Anyone who fulfils the attendance requirements for the complete recital for which they are registered will receive ijazah. For babies accompanying their mothers, please complete a separate registration so that we have their details for the ijazah.
Q. Will the recital be live-streamed?
A. The Hadith recitals will not be livestreamed. However, the Khatam Ceremony will be livestreamed on the official YouTube channel of Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi.
Q. Do I need to register separately for each recital?
A. Yes, if you wish to attend both recitals, you must complete registration for each.
Q. Can children attend the recital?
A. Yes, children are welcome to attend under the following conditions:
- They remain under the full responsibility and supervision of their parent/carer at all times.
- Young children and babies will only be permitted in the mother and baby room.
- Children must be able to sit quietly and respectfully during the sessions so as not to disturb the gathering.
- Any child who attends the entire recital will also receive ijazah.
- Babies and young children accompanying their parents must still be registered individually so that their names can be included in the ijazah record.
