Pride and Prejudice is a romantic romp ahead of its time.

This year’s picnic and show will be AUSTENTATIOUSLY different ! Celebrate the 250th anniversary of Jane Austen's birth. Pack the rug, prepare the picnic basket and join Guildburys Theatre Company at Merrist Wood, just 3 miles from Guildford - the perfect setting for this year's Regency extravaganza. 

Janet Munsil’s witty, romantic, and ingenious adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved tale of the independent-minded Elizabeth Bennet and enigmatic Mr Darcy is remarkable for capturing the tone and compressing the complexity of the story into a fast-paced, funny, and fiercely romantic two hours on stage. Witness the unfolding of love, family dynamics, and the politics of marriage, as we recreate Longbourn, Pemberley and Netherfield Park.

The grounds will open for evening performances at 6pm, 90 minutes before curtain up at 7.30pm.  For the matinee, grounds will open at 12.30pm with curtain up at 2.00pm. Pre-show picnics can be enjoyed on the Regency Picnic Lawn in a designated area clearly marked before taking a seat in the auditorium set against the glorious backdrop of the Surrey Hills.

We are delighted to be supporting MANE CHANCE SANCTUARY at this year's show as our chosen charity. Mane Chance is a registered charity and sanctuary for rescued, abused and abandoned horses, offering help to young people who need a little extra support, involving them with working alongside our rescued horses in a therapeutic environment. There will be an opportunity to visit their gazebo to find out more and donate to this worthy charity
