Develop your confidence and skills in supporting male victims of domestic abuse and sexual violence through this engaging and interactive half-day training delivered by New Pathways. Designed for professionals working across safeguarding and support services, the course explores the unique experiences, barriers, and needs of male victims, including those in both heterosexual and same-sex relationships. Through real-life case studies, group discussions, quizzes, and reflective learning, participants will challenge common myths and stereotypes, strengthen their risk assessment and engagement skills, and learn how to provide trauma-informed, gender-sensitive support. Delivered online by experienced VAWDASV and safeguarding practitioners, this training combines expert knowledge with practical application to equip learners with the confidence to identify, respond to, and support male victims effectively.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Participants will recognise the distinct challenges and risk indicators associated with male victims of domestic abuse.

2. Participants will be able to adapt their practice to better engage and support male victims, challenging assumptions and applying gender-informed approaches.

3. Participants will feel more confident in using professional curiosity and appropriate risk tools to assess and respond to disclosures by male victims.
