Course: Organised Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault

Training Provider: New Pathways

Recent years have seen growing awareness of organised drug facilitated sexual assault, with increased media coverage and high-profile cases highlighting the devastating impact these crimes can have on victims and survivors. Cases such as that of Gisèle Pelicot in France have brought international attention to the ways in which perpetrators can exploit drugs, technology and networks to facilitate sexual violence.

This half-day training provides professionals with an introduction to Organised Drug Facilitated Sexual Assault (ODFSA), helping participants understand what it is, how technology and the internet can be used to facilitate abuse, and the signs that may indicate someone is being targeted or has experienced ODFSA. The session also explores the support pathways available to survivors and the role professionals can play in identifying concerns, responding appropriately and improving outcomes for those affected.

Suitable for all professionals who may support individuals affected by sexual violence, this training aims to increase awareness of an often hidden form of abuse and build confidence in recognising and responding to potential indicators of harm.
