The Ballad of Owain Glyndwr - Harp recital by Prof. David Watkins with narration by storyteller, Carol Pearce.
Followed by a performance by Cass Meurig with the Crwth.
Based at Capel Moriah, Llanfyllin, the new composition by esteemed harpist Prof David Watkins will perform a world premier of his piece alongside the celebrated storyteller and historian, Carol Pearce. The performance will last 30 mins with an interview and Q& A.
Refreshments will be available. Unreserved seating.

Prof. David Watkins recordings of Ravel's Introduction & Allegro with the National Philharmonic became a bestseller in the USA. His most memorable invitations was to devise a recital of poetry and music with Princess Grace of Monaco for the official engagement of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. Recent concerts have included a performance of his solo harp concerto and his new concerto for two harps with the Budapest Strings, and a solo recital attended by the widow of Zoltan Kodály. For many years he was Professor of Harp at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and has written a 'Method' for the harp published by Boosey and Hawkes.
Carol Pearce works as a storyteller and local historian in mid Wales, in Welsh and English. She and David met in 2023 at one of Carol's history talks. They have worked together to produce the story of Owain Glyndwr, to accompany the Ballad.
