Squatting, a walking tour of central Hackney by Tom Hunter.

Tom Hunter, who squatted in Central Hackney from the mid 80’s until the end of the 90’s, will take you on a guided tour of his old homes and theatres of fun and entertainment. Starting at the Town Hall square, where ‘The Spiky Thing With Curves’ occupied the old Salvation Army building and the Weatherspoon’s pub, winding through back streets and old traveller yards along with Cinemas and Bingo halls all within 100 yards of Mare street. On this journey Tom will be reliving and retelling tales of all night raves, electric shocks, murders and a creative energy which changed Hackney forever.

The tour will last for approximately 1 hour.
