Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale @ The Old Church
In the intimate setting of The Old Church Arts Venue, Stoke Newington, come see and hear the rare opportunity to witness a semi-staged performance by the Perronet Players of Igor Stravinsky's 1918 theatrical work A Soldier's Tale (Histoire du soldat).
Conceived amid the destitution of the final months of the First World War, Stravinsky's collaboration with writer Charles Ferdinand Ramuz tells the story of an off-duty soldier's inexorable entrapment by the Devil. To be "read, played and danced (lue, jouée et dansée)" by three actors, one or more dancers, and a septet of instruments.
