The Purcell School Pianists @ Sutton House
"Pupils flourish in the specialised environment of The Purcell School"
~ Vladimir Ashkenazy, Patron
18 young pianists from The Purcell School for Young Musicians Keyboard Department take on the magnificent challenge of performing György Ligeti's complete cycle of 18 études for solo piano!
Led by the internationally acclaimed pianist and pedagogue William Fong, the keyboard faculty has a strong international outlook, and enjoys the generous support of C. Bechstein Pianos and is also a Fazioli Centre of Excellence. The Purcell School is Britain’s oldest music school and one of the world’s leading centres for musical education, holding Royal Patronage from His Majesty King Charles III. Situated on the outskirts of London in Bushey, Hertfordshire, the boarding and day school is home to around 196 musically talented young people, all of whom are passionate about fulfilling their talent.
The Purcell School is honoured to have His Majesty King Charles III as its Royal Patron, who comments: "The Purcell School is an extraordinary institution with a very special place in my heart. Since I became the School’s Patron in 1985, I have followed its development with close interest and it is a great pleasure for me to see the School reach its fiftieth year."
