Mark making with Natural Materials.

Have you ever wanted to draw but been daunted by the blank page? Or perhaps you are wanting to find new ways to ‘loosen up’ your drawing skills? If so, then this workshop is for you.

Gwen will be your guide - using eco dyes made from natural plant materials, and a collection of varied drawing implements, we’ll launch into markmaking with a spirit of “all is experiment, all is adventure”

This workshop aims to facilitate a joy in the drawn mark - to dispel the inner critic that stops you having fun, so you will come away with a fresh perspective on materials and drawing.

Gwen has extensive experience in facilitating workshops having worked as an Art Psychotherapist in the NHS for many years, as well as in adult education. She has a diverse art practice - from illustration, sculpture, printmaking and textiles. More recently she has focussed on environmental concerns and now regularly incorporates recycled and plant dyes into her work.

Gwen has exhibited widely including work at Chelsea Flower Show, Turn The Page Artist Bookscapes Fair in Norwich as well as locally in the Leigh Artist Trail. She has facilitated community projects most notably Connecting Threads which spotlights our ‘throw away culture’, and the demand for cheap clothing.

Please wear clothes that you do not mind getting paint on, or you may prefer to bring an apron to use on the day
