Table Reads of New Plays + Networking for Theatre Makers

Are you a playwright working on a new script?

Do you enjoy discussing new writing?

Do you love being in the same room as other theatre makers?

Then this event is for you! Listen to two table reads of two new plays and then stay for networking drinks and hear about our future plans for bringing more theatre to Hadleigh Old Fire Station. 

These new plays will be read aloud by professional actors, who sit on stage; the stage directions are read out and there are no props, sets or costumes. It's a chance for the writer to hear the play out loud and receive feedback from the actors and you the audience!

The opportunity for a script to be performed is incredibly valuable to a writer. The medium of theatre is in its performance! Scripts are meant to be performed and so it’s only when heard out loud and hear feedback from others, that a writer can really gauge what is working and where improvements are needed.

This event is aimed at those who simply love theatre, those already established in the industry and those that are curious about exploring the possibility of making theatre.

PLAY ONE: The Prowler.

It feels like the end of the world, damp, grey and deserted a far cry from what they left behind. A new beginning, is what he said to Jen and God knows they need it. But it’s so isolated and cold it’s hard not to be afraid of the future. Join Jen, Chris and Taffy the cat as they unpack their life and prepare to start over. Is their relationship too fractured to repair? Whatever happens they need to keep the door locked you never know what’s outside.
