Halston Horizon: Dark Skies - Building Britain's SatCom Backbone: What the UK Space Strategy Means for the Supply Chain

Tue 20 Oct 2026 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM BST Online, Zoom

The UK Space Strategy has committed £2.8 billion to Satellite Communications through to 2029/30, with government calling for a unified, integrated national architecture built on sovereign, nationally separable UK industrial capability.

This session looks at what that actually means in practice for the supply chain. We'll unpack what "sovereign and nationally separable" now signals to procurement decision-makers, why flight heritage is emerging as a funding criterion rather than just a credibility marker, and how the new Enterprise Space Category is reshaping government's role as an anchor customer.

For start-ups, scale-ups and component manufacturers across the SatCom supply chain, the strategy offers real clues on positioning, not just capability, but how to talk about it in the language government itself is now using.

Speakers include:

Tudor Williams, CTO, Filtronic

Andy Campbell, Founder, Space Network

Dr Hina Khan, Head of Commercial at Craft Perspect

Join us for a timely look at where UK SatCom goes next, and what it takes to be part of it.
