About the course
We are pleased to be offering this course as a core part of our curriculum, with the intention of understanding our journey as students and teachers from a deeper spiritual perspective.
This class is ideal for those wishing to become teachers of the Quran and absolutely essential for students and teachers both, especially those at the institute.
Group recitation will also take place throughout the course, we will be looking at Juz 1. However the main focus and time will be spent on the core text.
Assessment: There will be written assessments throughout the course which will count towards course completion and a reading of the verses in Arabic.
100% attendance is required in order to gain ijazah and the poem has to be recited fluently and understood under the guidance of the teacher.
Requirements for entry
You must have completed module 3 successfully with the institute, and if not, you can still be considered for a place on an individual basis. You will have priority as a student of knowledge or if you are already teaching Qur'an. Date and time
The time of this course will be Thursdays 7pm - 9pm. This course will last for 12 weeks with the final week being an exam.

About the Teacher
Ustadha Maryam is currently studying for her ijaazah in Hafs an Asim with Ustadha Shafaq with Hamil al Quran, she also holds ijaazah in the Tuhfatul Atfaal (a classic tajweed text). She is also a teacher with Hamil al Quran and is passionate about the healing power of the recitation of the Quran and encouraging women to improve their recitation and relationship with the Quran.
Outside of her quran work, she works in public health, with a focus on helping minority communities improve access to good health. She loves hiking in the English countryside and reading.
This class will be taught by Ustadha Maryam undder the guidance of ustadha Shafaq, guest teachers may also be leading some sessions.
