Jazariyyah - Classic Tajweed Poem

From the established طريق (path/way) of the أهل الأداء, (people of recitation) the study of Al-Muqaddimah al-Jazariyyah of Ibn al-Jazari is binding upon the student of ijāzah.

This blessed matn gathers the foundational principles of Tajwīd — from makhārij and ṣifāt to the precision required in the recitation of the Book of Allah — and has been upheld by the أهل العلم (people of knowledge) as a معيار (benchmark) for those seeking itqān.

It is required that the student:

• Memorises the matn if able (highly encouraged)
• Understands its meanings
• Applies the knowledge with precision in recitation

For indeed, correct recitation is not attained except through knowledge, discipline, and adherence to the طريق of the scholars.

Completion of Al-Jazariyyah is a شرط  (condiiton) for continuation in the ijāzah programme.

Please note this course will run into the summer and may be extended, it will be an intense programme and students must be prepared every week.
