Who is this course for?

This course is ideal for a person who is able to recognise Arabic letters and read from the Qur'an (even if with a little struggle).

The focus is on understanding the importance of the science of Tajweed, the correct pronunciation of letters alongside other basic topics to begin reciting correctly.

The duration of the course is 12 weeks with an exam at the end, and each module is followed by a short recitation course before progression on to the next module.

This class will be taught in English as well as Urdu

Date and time

The course will take place on Sundays at 5:00 PM, and will last for 12 weeks with the final week being an exam.

About the teacher

Ustadha Shamama Siddiqui is based in India and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. Her journey with Tajweed began in 2020, and since then, she has been continuously learning and improving under various teachers. She is currently studying Muqaddimah Al-Jazariyah and taking courses under Ustadha Shafaq at Hamil Al Quran Institute. Alongside this, she is also pursuing Qira’at (Saba‘ Ashrah Sughra).

She is deeply passionate about Tajweed, and teaching and learning it is something very close to her heart. She strives to make her lessons simple, clear, and beneficial for her students. She also enjoys creating neat and creative notes to help others understand concepts more effectively.

In her free time, she enjoys baking. She believes that learning the Qur’an is a lifelong journey and feels grateful to be a part of it.
