Employment Standards Overview
Wed Oct 16, 2024 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM EDT
Online, Zoom
Description
The Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA) is a law that sets out the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers in Ontario with respect to rates of pay, hours of work and overtime, vacations, public holidays, leaves of absence and more. The ESA applies to most employees and employers in Ontario. Every Canadian province and most industrialized countries have similar laws to protect employees.
In Ontario, the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the ESA and its regulations. The Ministry is committed to educating employees and employers about their workplace rights and responsibilities. To help our clients, we are partnering with the Ministry to deliver a session that will provide you with information on compliance with the ESA.
The session will be delivered by a subject-matter expert from the ministry who will:
- provide an overview of the ESA
- identify new rules, and answer your questions about the new requirements (time permitting)
Join us on October 16 at 9:30 AM to learn more about your workplace obligations and employee rights.
Please note: This session will be delivered virtually. A invitation link will be sent to you in the registration confirmation email. Please be sure to check your email after registering.
If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration via email or call 905-540-6400.
