Afternoon Tea with Olu

Sun 9 Aug 2026 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM BST Sopwell House, AL1 2HQ

On Sunday 9 August, I am hosting a very special Afternoon Tea at the beautiful Sopwell House; so join me for an afternoon of elegance, good company, and a little indulgence.  While afternoon tea may be known for its sandwiches, this experience is about far more than what is on the menu.

Set within 12 acres of stunning grounds, Sopwell House is a luxury Georgian country hotel renowned for its exceptional hospitality and refined surroundings. In the comfort of our own private room, complete with an exclusive terrace and garden, we'll enjoy an afternoon designed to inspire, connect and delight.

Afternoon tea is about far more than delicate sandwiches and freshly baked scones. Together, we'll discover the fascinating history behind this much-loved British tradition, explore the etiquette that surrounds it, and learn why it continues to captivate generations while remaining relevant in today's world.

As an etiquette coach, Consultant, and author of Because Manners Matter, I am passionate about helping people navigate social and professional settings with confidence, poise, and authenticity. Throughout our time together, I will share practical etiquette insights, modern social graces, and simple ways to elevate your personal presence—whether at the dining table, in business, or in everyday life.

We will enjoy a beautifully presented afternoon tea featuring delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and an array of delectable sweet treats, all accompanied by the smooth, dulcet tones of a live saxophonist.
This is more than afternoon tea. It is an opportunity to invest in yourself, connect with like-minded people, learn valuable skills, have fun, and enjoy a luxurious experience in one of Hertfordshire's most beautiful venues.

As an added touch, we will be gathering just before National Afternoon Tea Week, giving you the chance to celebrate this treasured tradition before the official festivities begin.

Dress Code (Optional, but highly encouraged): Think elegant tea dresses, fascinators, and occasion wear. Gentlemen may wish to opt for a smart shirt and tailored trousers. While there is no pressure to dress up, it certainly adds to the magic of the occasion
