'Our Community Powerhouse'

Sun 7 Jun 2026 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM BST Hanover Community Centre, 33 Southover Street, Brighton, BN2 9UD

A community-driven event from Hanover Action’s Greener Homes group, all about bringing neighbours together to build a more connected, climate-ready future.

Following our recent screening of POWER STATION, this event aims to spark conversations with tenants, landlords, and homeowners—especially in a neighbourhood where 40% of homes are rented—around the real challenges and opportunities of home energy. It’s about making homes warmer, bills lower, and everyday living more comfortable.

Through practical ideas and shared experiences, the event will raise awareness of how greener homes can be achieved. More than that, it’s designed to inspire—encouraging people to explore the potential of a local community energy project and imagine what’s possible when a neighbourhood works together.

The event features 3 speakers:

Cllr Tim Rowkins, Head of Net Zero - Low Carbon Energy for your homes and businesses

Elaine Hills, lead on Preston Park Community Energy Project

Kayla Ente, Director BHESCo - see Solar Powered Communities

Free, with a suggested £2.50 donation to cover costs.
