Happenings and Neuroconvergence are proud to launch Sensinema, a new series of inclusive outdoor cinema experiences celebrating exceptional Irish film in beautiful public spaces.
Our opening event features Cartoon Saloon's breathtaking Song of the Sea, one of Ireland's most celebrated animated films and an Academy Award® nominee. Inspired by Irish folklore, its stunning hand-drawn artwork, beautiful score and gentle storytelling create an unforgettable cinematic experience that feels perfectly at home beneath the trees of Herbert Park.
From 3pm, audiences are invited to arrive, settle into the park, enjoy food and refreshments from Lolly & Cookes, or you can bring what you need to eat and drink. There will be some pre screening entertainment. Also bring what you need to sit on, so you are comfortable.
The screening begins at 4.00pm.
Every guest can receive wireless headphones, allowing them to adjust the volume to their own comfort level throughout the film. A soft, low-level PA system will also be available for those who prefer not to wear headphones, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere while minimising sound throughout the surrounding park. Quiet spaces and a relaxed audience policy will help create an environment where everyone can enjoy the experience in the way that suits them best.
Sensinema is a new kind of public cinema—one where thoughtful event design, accessibility and outstanding filmmaking come together to create calm, welcoming cultural experiences for everyone. Whether you are neurodivergent, bringing family, or simply looking for a magical afternoon outdoors, you are warmly invited to join us.
Presented by Happenings and Neuroconvergence.
Supported by Screen Ireland's Audience Development Fund.
With the generous support of Cartoon Saloon, who have donated the screening rights for both films. Ticket proceeds will support Neuroconvergence's participating neurodiversity charity partners.
