Harbor Mahjong 101 at The Neighborhood Hotel

Join Harbor Mahjong for Mahjong 101, our signature beginner class at The Neighborhood Hotel in New Buffalo. 

Whether you're completely new to the game or simply Mahjong-curious, this thoughtfully guided experience combines hands-on instruction, guided play, and a social atmosphere to make learning American Mahjong approachable, engaging, and fun.

Together, we'll cover:

• Mahjong tiles and gameplay basics
• How to read the NMJL 2026 card
• The Charleston and game setup
• Beginner strategy and helpful tips
• Guided practice play with instructor support

$65 per person. We provide all Mahjong materials needed for the class, including tiles, racks, mats, and official NMJL 2026 cards.

Light snacks provided. BYOB welcome!

Venue Note: This event is planned to take place outdoors in the backyard patio of The Neighborhood Hotel. In the event of rain or inclement weather, we'll move indoors to The Neighborhood's four-season room.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the event will receive a credit toward a future Harbor Mahjong experience of a similar format. Because Mahjong requires carefully planned table counts and balanced group sizes, cancellations made within 48 hours of the event are not eligible for refunds or credits. Tickets may be transferred to another guest at any time by contacting us prior to the event.
