Starting at Turnpike Lane tube station and ending at the historic Alexandra Palace, join us on a summers evening to navigate themes of belonging, access and connection in public space through the act of collective walking, drawing on feminist walking practices such as the Flaneuse

As a group we will meander through Wood Green’s high street and former industrial area, up through Alexandra Palace park before we reach our end destination to take in the views across London from Alexandra Palace and reflect on the environment around us and our experiences within it

This event is being co-hosted by Carmel Keren and Gaia Crochella. Carmel is an artist-researcher with a background in architecture. Her practice uses participatory practice and performance with young women to navigate the intersection of belonging and safety in public space. Gaia Crocella is a spatial practitioner, researcher and educator. Her work sits at the intersection of feminist urbanism, gender-inclusive design, intersectional dialogue and spatial activism, seeking tangible pathways towards more equitable, joyful and just urban environments.

Access – the walking route is accessible for those with reduced mobility and wheelchair users – however please note that the last part of the walk will be via Alexandra Palace Park and as such may include some grass / uneven ground.

This event welcomes people who identify as women, of any age, level of mobility or fitness
