Enjoy snacks & drinks while you experience art with community members and local artists! Join us for an engaging evening with artist Jess Holz as we celebrate her solo exhibition Plankton Paintings: Footprints of the Invisible. Holz and a guest moderator will delve into the vivid, microscopic worlds at the heart of her work—time-lapse “paintings” shaped by the movements of plankton gathered from Boston’s rivers and ponds. Experience the exhibition, meet the artist, and take part in a lively conversation and Q&A with special guest co-host Professor Peter Girguis, exploring the surprising beauty, motion, and creativity found in nature’s smallest living forms. Jess Holz is a Brighton-based multimedia artist and member of Artisans Asylum.

Guests will...

  • Hear the inspiration and stories behind Jess Holz's artwork.
  • Meet members of Artisans Asylum as they highlight the creative offerings at Allston's largest community makerspace for do-it-yourself ("DIY") fabrication.
  • Network with artists, makers, entrepreneurs and students.

This reservation includes food, drinks, artists' talk and networking.

Event Schedule:

  • 5:00 p.m. appetizers and exhibition
  • 6:00 p.m. conversation
  • 6:45p.m. mingle

This is an annual exhibition slot showcasing an Artisans Asylum member.
