"I AM" Reception & Artist Talk

Join us for an engaging evening with Cambridge-based multimedia artist Miles Perry as we celebrate his mixed-media solo exhibition I AM. Enjoy snacks and drinks while you experience art alongside local residents, artists, and arts-activists. 

The evening continues with special guest Professor Sarah Elizabeth Lewis, followed by a conversation with Miles Perry, Sophia Dubuisson and Dart Adams. Together, they’ll delve into identity, creativity, and personal impact in an increasingly digital era, exploring the heart of the I AM series: authentic human experiences that inspire social connection, embrace realism, and foster a genuine sense of belonging.

Experience the exhibition, meet the artist, get a behind-the-scenes look at his creative process, and take part in a lively conversation and Q&A—introduced by a surprise special guest.

Sarah Lewis is the John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Humanities at Harvard University and founder of Vision & Justice. An acclaimed author, curator, and cultural critic, she has authored and edited more than 60 publications, organized landmark convenings, and curated major exhibitions. Her writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Artforum, and she is the recipient of numerous honors, including the Andrew Carnegie Fellowship and the Infinity Award for Critical Writing and Research.

Advance registration is preferred for all Ed Portal programs and events. Walk-in attendees may not be admitted.

Parking is limited around the Ed Portal so we recommend taking public transportation.

Public transportation options:

We are about a 15-20 minute walk from the Red Line Harvard Square station or Green Line -B Harvard Avenue station.

Several MBTA buses also stop near the intersection of North Harvard Street and Western Avenue: #66, #86, #70.

Parking information:

If you choose to drive to the Ed Portal please be prepared to utilize the two-hour on-street parking surrounding the Ed Portal or to park at Artesani Park and walk 10-12 minutes along Western Avenue to arrive at the Ed Portal. A limited number of parking spaces are available in the rear of the Ed Portal building on a first come, first serve basis. You may only use parking spaces in the rear of the Ed Portal building outlined in orange paint.
