Beacon Hill Fort may date back as far as Roman times as a prominent piece of headland for coastal defence, but the main structures currently in place date from the  mid 19^th century. Though the Fort was allowed to fall into a considerable state of disrepair since it's closure nearly 70 years ago,  local enthusiasts have now done a tremendous job in preserving what is left of this important strategic site. Over the festival weekend there are 6 guided tours around the Fort with Shanty entertainment to finish. £8.00 each
