So, you wanna do drag?
Choking Hazard's Saturday workshops will take you though the basics of drag make up, stage craft, how to build an act, lipsync technique with the option of participating in a showcase on 5th December at The Crypt. This is for beginners all the way to seasoned performers.

Choking Hazard has been doing drag for longer than they care to admit, having undergone training at Soho Theatre and Roundhouse London to gigging across the globe the last half a decade, including Edinbrugh Fringe 2025. 

10th October, 1-3pm - Drag Make Up
Bring what you've got in your make up kit and we will go through everything from blocking bows to setting spray.

17th October, 1-3pm - Stage Craft 
A series of solo and group exercises drawing from cabaret, clowning and theatre techniques to get you thinking about what you'd like to bring to the stage. 

24th October, 1-3pm - How to Build an Act
Bring a notebook, a pen, any props/items you have in mind or a blank slate and an open mind, this will be a safe space to share ideas.

21st November, 1-3pm - Costuming 
Everything from thrifting/sustainability to rhinestoning basics, bring a costume you want to work on or a sketch pad and some inspiration. 

28th November, 1-3pm - Lipsync Technique
This session will cover the basics of lipsync technique, bring a song you want to lipsync to and some headphones for practicing before sharing with the group. 

5th December, 1-3pm - Showcase Tech Rehearsal
The final session will take you through the process of how to do a tech rehearsal like a pro before the showcase where all participants are welcome to share their drag acts that they have been developing. Professional advice on invoicing, artist bios and other industry expertise.
