Thalassaemia Education Day 2026

The Haemoglobinopathy Coordinating Centre for the North of England is excited to invite you to YOUR day – an opportunity to connect, learn, and share with your incredible community, being hosted at the iconic Manchester City Etihad Stadium!

What to Expect:

• Gene Therapy: Updates and empowering sessions on pathway, pastoral support, and fertility.
• Patient Stories: Connect through shared experiences, inspiring journeys, and peer support.
• Interactive Workshops: Join sessions designed to build your knowledge and confidence.
• Charity & Support Stalls: Meet with organisations providing specialised advice and resources for the community.

What's Included (All FREE!):

• Delicious refreshments throughout the day.
• A lunchtime meal.

• Children’s Room (ages 3–12*) with supervised activities and entertainment. Children must be fully toilet trained.

*Age guidance only — activities are aimed at younger children. Older kids may use the space but might not be as interested.

Important Information – Please Read

• Advance registration is essential to attend, due to capacity and catering. Unregistered attendees cannot be accommodated, and venue security may deny entry. Please bring your ticket (as a PDF or printout) to ensure smooth entry.
• If bringing family/guests, please select the correct number of tickets (include yourself too!). Limited to 4 tickets per group to ensure fair access. If you need extra, please just let us know and we’ll see what’s possible.
• If your plans change, please inform us as soon as possible to allow others to attend.
• This event is for individuals with full thalassaemia (major/intermedia), not trait, to ensure tailored content.
• Once registered, you’ll receive an email with your QR code and PDF ticket. 
• The final agenda and patient information pack will be emailed closer to the event date. So, please watch your inbox for updates!
• Parking: On-site parking is free and there are plenty of spaces if that is how you will travel.
