How to Create a Hummingbird Hotspot
How to Create a Hummingbird Hotspot
Do you want to create a hummingbird hotspot in your yard? This program shares what you can do to give hummingbirds what they're looking for -- habitat, food and shelter. And you'll take home a detailed list (including growing instructions) for hardy native plants that will attract hummingbirds to your yard, illustrated by the author’s photos from her own gardens.
This program will be presented by Kathleen Scott, a 17-year Master Gardener but a 25-year wildlife gardener. She’s created large and small habitat gardens certified by the National Wildlife Federation. In the process, she’s made almost every mistake possible…learning the hard way how to design habitat gardens for hummingbirds, birds, bees and butterflies; and the plants that grow here, how to grow them and what NOT to do. Her articles on habitat gardening have been published in the San Antonio Express-News and her wildlife gardening talks draw folks from all over Central Texas.
